Now I have to comment on these sets of photos, as this is the
famous Fargo Express Cap Gun from Kilgore. When you talk of EXPENSIVE Cap Guns,
then this one comes to mind almost first. Lots of people (sort of) own them,
but there are PLENTY of more who would like to.
A slightly different view of the gun.
Obviously Jamie was having a good time taking photos and wanted
you to see as many angles as you could.
Here you can see the inside of the cylinder. It used those
Mammoth cap rings. Chuck Quinn says that Kilgore had their employees polish up
a lot of their better guns, like the Long Tom, American and Fargo Express out
of (1) pride and (2) sometimes business was slow, but Kilgore wanted to keep
their valuable employees until times got better. Know any companies like that
these days?
Here's a good close-up of
the left grip showing the name and the eagle. I wonder why Kilgore didn't put
the name of the gun on the right grip?
Here's the proof that Kilgore didn't put the name on the right
grip. And why didn't they take more time making a really nice trigger? I bet
nobody will ever know. And why did they make the front site and bullet
extractor red?
