Kilgore made not only die-cast Cap Guns, but LOTS of cast-iron Cap Guns. Well, Kilgore was such a prolific company, and so many of you have sent in more photos and text of various Kilgore Cap Guns and products, that we have a lot of pages. Keep sending them in!

PLEASE HELP!
There won't be any "Art Trade Fair Shows" this year because of the COVID-19 virus, so I won't be able to sell my glass ornaments at those shows. And money is tight for the USA (Pray for our leaders and Jesus said "Pray for those who would spitefully use you."...so with money tight it's just a hope that we can receive contributions.

Believe me, even small contributions help! This is the only site where you are likely to find most of the Cap Guns ever made. The site will always be free to use, but it's not free for me.

YOU CAN CLICK BELOW TO HELP OUT!
(Contritubutions start at only $10, but you can make it more if you can afford it.)
(And we absolute refuse to put you on a mailing list or sell your e-mail address.)
Thank you "History Buffs & Collectors"—Mike Nichols, Texas

Here is a common 1950-1955 version of the Kilgore Ranger Cap Gun. It is a die-cast repeater. The chrome looks slightly yellowish, so it is hard to tell if this is a gold version or a chrome version, as there were both. Click on photo to see a nice gold one.

Thanks to Lewis Ellman for this contribution.

Well, this one is definitely GOLD! And it is mint on the card! And...it settles once and for all the question of whether or not the cowboy's hat was painted. It was painted at the factory. When I first started seeing these, it looked like some of the artwork I did when I was a kid, but it is genuine.

Thanks to Chuck Quinn.

Kilgore Ranger from Canada
This is an exceptionally rare Kilgore Ranger.

This is the more common variety of the gun below, although in more pristine condition. This is one of the very early versions of the Ranger. Very nice!

The two above photos pretty much tell the story of the Kilgore cast-iron Ranger. Please notice that this box is much simpler than the die-cast Kilgore Ranger that had the scrollwork on the barrel with (what looks like) Hoppy on the grip. Of course it isn't Hoppy or they would have had to pay royalties.

Kilgore Ranger - IN GOLD
Here's some bona fide gold from Chuck. This Ranger is rare enough as it is and is certainly in wonderful mint shape as it is and the box is great as it is, but it is in GOLD! I guess he bought it as a hedge against inflation.

Thanks to Chuck Quinn for these photos!

I decided to include this box's back just to confuse you. You might notice that it says that it's made in Canada. But the Cap Gun says that it's made in the U.S.A. Go figure. Also...here's a funny thing. It says, "Do not take pistol apart. You will be unable to reassemble." Apparently they have never met Ed Manes!!! Ed could probably take the Rock of Gibraltar apart and reassemble it so the British would never suspect. Click on the box and you will see a bigger photo.

More Kilgore Ranger Photos
I got some more beautiful photos of the Kilgore Ranger, so I'm adding them.

Kilgore Eagle Cap Gun
A MINT version of this old Kilgore Cap Gun showing the fancy grip.

Many thanks to Michael McDade of New Jersey!
Different gun, same model, from Ken Mittelsteadt.
Thie is a die-cast revolving cylinder gun. A little unusual for Kilgore—especially the grips. It is pretty easy to read "EAGLE" on the side of the Cap Gun's frame.

Here is the Kilgore Eagle, but in a Fast Draw set. The rear part of the holster pocket is scalloped away so that the gun comes out very easily. This one is DEAD MINT.

Thanks to Scott McCollum

Kilgore Ranger in GOLD (!) and Box (!!!)
This is a really nice MINT Kilgore Eagle in Gold. You don't see these every day. It's not a very big gun, but its price is pretty big.

Photos thanks to Chuck Quinn.

Kilgore Eagle Cap Gun

It's not even possible to get a better Kilgore Eagle than this Cap Gun. It is perfect in every way. It's right "out of the box." Flawless! Simply breath-taking, considering how old it is.

Many thanks to Doug Hamilton!!!

Kilgore Billy The Kid
Now folks, this is a rare Cap Gun. I didn't say an expensive Cap Gun, but it is a rare Cap Gun. Why? I don't know, but you seldom see it. Stevens has a Billy the Kid Cap gun, but as you can see from the Circle "K" logo. It used disc caps. Notice that this Cap Gun is almost a twin of the Kilgore Eagle.

Thanks to Doug Hamilton for these photos!

Here is a Kilgore Warrior from around 1926. Though it is a cast-iron Cap Gun, it is actually a repeater and has a nickel finish. It has an unusual Maltese Cross medallion above the grip. This is from our friend Chuck Quinn's collection.

This is a really old cast-iron Cap Gun from around 1940.
