Here's a much larger photo of the set and you will notice
that it is still in the box, unopened. This snub-nose .38 fires those shootin'
shells that have the spring. Unlike the Nichols shells that fired a plastic
projectile, the Mattel shells didn't need a cap, as they operated on a spring.
Less realistic, but probably easier, as long as they actually fired, which
sometimes they did not. The Nichols shells (read: 3-piece bullets) used the
gases from the cap to propel the shell out the gun.
