And the other end of the box. During the early
1960's the bullet-firing "wars" were on, and Mattel and Nichols were trying to
see who could sell the most guns that actually fired plastic bullets. I could
be wrong, but I think that Mattel won that battle. Their Shootin' Shell models
were very popular and except for the Model 61 Stallion, Nichols just didn't
have the larger size pistols that fired the bullets. One of the funny things
about the bullets, though, was that the Mattel bullets would fireeven if
you didn't use caps, for theirs used a spring, whereas the Nichols versions
