It was inspired by the early 1960's Comedy TV Series CAR 54, Where Are You? Which aired on NBC from 1961 to 1963. It starred Fred Gwynne as Officer FRANCIS MULDOON and Joe E. Ross as Officer GUNTHER TOODY. It is EXTREMELY RARE and almost never seen. The cap gun is the TROOPER in NEAR MINT UNFIRED condition. The holster is also in NEAR MINT condition retaining all of the likeness of Joe E. Ross as OFFICER TOODY and the name CAR 54 silk screen printed graphics on the flap of the holster. I would assume that there is a holster that exists with the likeness of Fred Gwynne as OFFICER MULDOON but have never seen one. The cap gun functions as it should with a strong snap to the hammer. No chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs. Almost never seen in this condition. This is definitely a unique piece for the Military and Police Collector. This is a Dragnet snob nose repeating revolver style cap gun that takes roll caps. This one is copied after the popular Hubley TROOPER cap gun. It is marked POLICE on both sides of the frame. It is in NEAR MINT lightly fired condition. The Holster is made of a bonded leather type of material and marked Rip McCoy - Canadian MOUNTIE on the flap of the holster. It is in UNUSED condition with no signs of play wear on the belt and shoulder strap. The cap gun functions as it should with a strong snap to the hammer when pulling the trigger.
