It is commonly referred to as the chrome-plated 3rd variation with the plain non-notched cylinder, The 1st variation is nickel-plated with a NOTCHED cylinder that comes in a two-piece box. The 2nd variation is also nickel-plated, that comes in the one-piece box. It is one of the nicest and most complete of this variation that I have seen in many years. The STALLION 45 is referred to as the GRANDFATHER of all cap guns. It was the "Toy Of The Year" at the World Toy Fair in 1950 in New York City. It is a high-quality cap gun which has the same size and feel as the real Colt SINGLE ACTION ARMY revolver. This was an awesome cap gun for any child during the late 1950's and early 1960's and if you were lucky enough to own one you were the King of the Neighborhood. It comes complete with all six (6) original two-piece bullets and original brochure, outlining the directions, care, and service policy for the STALLION 45. Lewis Nichols, one of the two brothers who were the owners, personally handled all of the service. The translucent white grips are beautiful, flawless, and mint in condition. It functions as it should with a strong snap to the hammer and rotates the cylinder with each pull of the trigger. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs to the grips or frame of the cap gun. Remember, these vintage cap guns should never be fired without the two-piece bullets in the cylinder, otherwise you run the risk of cracking or breaking the frame. The box is the 1st variation one-piece box. It is very solid with great graphics and colors and has no rips, splits, or missing tabs and has been shrink wrapped for preservation. VERY RARE 1st Variation Mattel Shootin' Shell .45 Vigilante LEATHER Single Holster Set This is the Shootin' Shell Fanner 45 VIGILANTE Single Holster Set by Mattel. It is the VERY RARE 1st variation LEATHER VIGILANTE single holster. These leather VIGILANTE sets came in both single and double configurations and I have had the luck to offer both. As you can see in the pictures this is a very unique holster and is different than the leather holsters for the regular smaller Shootin' Shell Fanner. These were only produced for a very short while when the FANNER 45 was introduced. Shortly after it was introduced, they started using the DURA-HYDE holsters which almost all VIGILANTE sets are known to have. It comes complete with eighteen (18) original Mattel two-tone metal bullets in the belt and six (6) complete shells and twelve (12) VERY RARE yellow plastic bullet tips for the cylinder of the FANNER 45. It functions as it should rotating the cylinder with each pull of the trigger or hammer and the hammer stays in the half cock and full cock positions as seen in the photos. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs to the grips, frame, or holster.
